Shifaia Health is a clinical decision support (CDS) tool intended for licensed healthcare professionals practising in Egypt and, for educational use only, for enrolled medical, pharmacy, and dental students. If you are a pharmacist or a student, the app’s diagnostic and treatment output is provided to you for information and learning only and must not be applied to a real patient. By accepting these terms you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Intended use and eligibility
The app is intended for three categories of user, and for no one else:
(a) Licensed prescribers — physicians and dentists who are licensed and currently registered with the relevant Egyptian syndicate. You must hold a valid Egyptian syndicate registration and provide accurate credentials. Diagnosis and prescribing through the app are yours to make, within your scope of practice.
(b) Licensed pharmacists — pharmacists licensed and currently registered with the Egyptian Pharmacists Syndicate. Diagnosis and prescribing are outside a pharmacist’s scope of practice. Any diagnostic or treatment information the app shows you — differential diagnoses, suggested drugs, doses, regimens, and care plans — is provided for information and learning only and must not be used to diagnose, prescribe for, or direct the treatment of a real patient. You must not present it to a patient as a diagnosis or as a prescription, and you must refer any patient who needs diagnosis or a prescription to a licensed prescriber. The interaction, allergy, contraindication, dose-check, and drug-information functions remain available to support your own pharmaceutical-care practice — dispensing review, counselling, and medication safety — within your legal scope. Pharmacist accounts have no prescribing function.
(c) Students — persons currently enrolled at a recognised faculty of medicine, pharmacy, or dentistry. Student accounts are provided for education, training, and self-study only. Any diagnostic or treatment information the app shows you is provided for information and learning only and must not be used on a real patient. As a student you must not use the app to diagnose, prescribe, treat, or otherwise direct the care of any real patient, and you must not present its outputs as professional medical advice. Any involvement you have in real patient care must occur solely under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician who retains full responsibility for every decision. Student accounts have no prescribing function.
The app is not intended for patients or the general public, and its outputs are not medical advice to patients. You must register under the correct category and provide accurate credentials; misrepresenting your professional or student status is a breach of these terms.
2. Decision support, not decision making
All outputs — differential diagnoses, investigations, treatment suggestions, doses, interaction and allergy checks — are computer-generated assistance, produced in part by artificial intelligence. They may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. The app does not diagnose, prescribe, or treat. It supports your clinical reasoning; it never replaces it.
3. Your professional responsibility
If you are a licensed prescriber, you bear full, sole, and final responsibility for every clinical decision, prescription, and patient outcome. You must independently verify every output — including drug choices, doses, interactions, contraindications, and pregnancy/lactation safety — against current guidelines and authoritative references (e.g. BNF, UpToDate, local protocols) before acting on it. A prescription generated through the app is your prescription, issued under your name and registration number.
If you are a pharmacist, you are not authorised to diagnose or to prescribe. Diagnostic and treatment output shown to you is informational and educational and must not be acted on for a real patient; a patient who needs a diagnosis or a prescription must be referred to a licensed prescriber. Within your own scope — dispensing review, interaction and allergy checking, dose verification, and patient counselling — you remain fully responsible for independently verifying every output before relying on it, and for any advice you give.
If you are a student, you are not authorised to make clinical decisions, issue prescriptions, or provide care for real patients through the app. You use the app for learning only and at your own risk, and you accept the same duty to independently verify every output before relying on it for any purpose. You must not rely on the app in place of your formal education, supervised training, or authoritative references.
4. Safety features are aids, not guarantees
5. Patient data and privacy
Direct patient identifiers (name, ID, phone) remain on your device and are not stored on cloud servers. This is enforced two ways: those fields are excluded from everything the app transmits, and an automated pass redacts names, phone numbers, ID numbers and record numbers out of free-text boxes before the text leaves your device. That redaction is not infallible, so please do not deliberately type patient identifiers into free-text fields. Clinical data stored in the cloud is de-identified.
You remain the data controller for your patients. By accepting these terms you confirm that, before you enter a patient’s health data into the app, you obtain that patient’s explicit consent in the form the law requires of you — in Egypt, explicit written consent documented in Arabic. An Arabic consent form you can print and have the patient sign is provided in the app at Settings → Patient consent form. The signed form belongs in your own records: it is never sent to us, and we never hold a copy of it. You must also honour a patient who refuses or later withdraws consent, and refusal must not affect the care you give them.
Use communication features (e.g. sending a prescription via WhatsApp) only with the patient’s agreement. Keep your device and account secured.

5a. Where processing happens, and for how long
Account and de-identified clinical data are hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt). AI processing runs on Microsoft Azure OpenAI in Sweden Central; under Azure standard abuse monitoring the de-identified text sent for processing may be retained by Microsoft for up to 30 days for misuse review, then deleted. Every third party involved is named at Subprocessors.
Consultation records are deleted automatically 12 months after they are created, and prescription audit entries are deleted on the same 12-month cycle. Shifaia is a decision-support tool and is not the medical record: your own patient chart remains the medical record, and any obligation you have to retain it is unaffected by this and remains yours to meet.
You can delete your account and everything in it at any time from Settings → Delete account and all data. It is immediate and permanent — see Deleting your account and data.
6. Prescribing limits
Prescribing is available only to licensed prescribers (physicians and dentists); the function is disabled for pharmacist and student accounts. Controlled substances are excluded from app-generated prescriptions by design. You must comply with all applicable Egyptian laws and regulations on prescribing, dispensing, and medical records.
7. No warranty
The app and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind — express or implied — including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Drug data, brand lists, and prices may lag the market.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app’s developers and operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including patient harm — arising from use of, reliance on, or inability to use the app. This does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Account and acceptable use
Your account is personal and non-transferable. Do not share credentials, misrepresent your profession, attempt to extract the underlying databases, or use the app for any unlawful purpose. Access may be suspended for breach of these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. When the version changes you will be asked to review and accept the new version before continuing to use the app. Your acceptance of each version is recorded with a timestamp.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
12. Language of these terms
These terms are published in Arabic and in English. The Arabic text is the authoritative version and is the one that governs; the English text is provided for convenience only. If the two differ in meaning, the Arabic text prevails.
